This item was developed with improvements to the design of the original part, so that the common problem with the gear shifter can be corrected.
If you are no longer able to remove the keys from the ignition - and have to leave them in the car, or if you are no longer able to shift the gears between park and drive- most likely the gear shifter knob has sustained damage to the interior of the release button. This item easily and economically corrects that condition.
