This panel is laser cut to precise dimensions. Bottom area of the interior panel is found to be commonly damaged by moisture. Sample is shown in the photos on the left.

To repair a decayed lower backing panel with our repair kit, the door panel should be removed from the vehicle. Cut out and remove the decayed portion. Using gentle heat from a hairdryer to loosen up and remove remaining of decayed paperboard from the upholstery trim surrounding this the decayed area. Fit our repair plate into position, measure and cut a straight line on your existing door panel so that the edges will mate up and secure both parts using fiber reinforced craft tape or duct tape in place, You may want to use a Fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin to joint both parts together for professional results, while hot glue will work just fine. The original upholstery should be gently stretched in place over the new portion of the door panel, and secured with masking tape, before gluing the upholstery to the new panel. We recommend using Elmer's rubber cement to attach upholstery. It is easy to work with and it is forgiving if a mistake is made. We are including a set of 8 panel mounting clips of different colors to complete the installation procedure.
